Mashimizu

The Mashimizu system incorporates all the best equipment components from GC Tech, pre-plumbed on a single, easy to install pallet.



The Mashimizu system includes the following;

  • Votek SS Solids Seperator
  • WonderFlo Energy Efficient Pump
  • Your Choice of either the Aqua Bead or Alpha One Filter
  • Zapp Pure UV Stertilizer

The components are plumbed together on a 48" x 72" pad. All pipe fittings are unionized and then disassembled and packed into individual boxes for easy and safe shipping. Set up takes just a few minutes and is accomplished by just hand tightening the unions together.

  • Mashimizu 2.5 system for ponds up to 5000 gallons and fish loads up to 125 lbs. Complete system includes; Vortek SS, 1/4 HP WunderFlo pump, 2.5 Aqua Bead or Alpha One filter, ZP-5 UV sterilizer, base pallet, and unionized plumbing components.
  • Mashimizu 4.25 system for ponds up to 10,000 gallons and fish loads up to 225 lbs. Complete system includes; Vortek SS, 1/3 HP WunderFlo pump, 4.25 Aqua Bead or Alpha One, ZP-10 UV sterilizer, base pallet, and unionized plumbing components.
  • Mashimizu 6.0 system for ponds up to 17,000 gallons and fish loads up to 300 lbs. Complete system includes; Vortek SS, 1 HP WunderFlo pump, 6.0 Aqua Bead or Alpha One filter, ZP-20 UV sterilizer, base pallet, and unionized plumbing components.
  • Mashimizu 9.0 system for ponds up to 25,000 gallons and fish loads up to 450 lbs. Complete system includes; Vortek SS, 1 HP WunderFlo pump, 9.0 Aqua Bead or Alpha One Filter, ZP-40 UV sterilizer, base pallet, and unionized plumbing components.
  • Mashimizu Medusa System for ponds up to 30,000 gallons and fish loads up to 450 lbs. The key to successful Koi Keeping is creating a optimum environment for your Koi. One of the key elements is proper filtration.

The filter is of utmost importance in keeping your Koi pond crystal-clear and free of chemical pollutants. Our line of filters are designed to meet a wide range of needs, for both large and small ponds.

Mechanical Filtration: Refers to the physical removal of debris from water by materials that trap large and small particles. Koi ponds traditionally use some form of solids separation, either passive (vortex chambers) or mechanical (micron-screen/static K1 separators).

Biological Filtration: This is where your pond filter provides a home for beneficial bacteria to grow on special media. These bacteria remove harmful pollutants from pond water. Known as the "Biological Filter" these beneficial bacteria convert poisonous compounds such as ammonia and nitrite, into less toxic nitrate. The end by-product, nitrate, is used as a food source by aquatic plants. This continuous process is called the nitrogen cycle.

It is?important to think of your filtration in terms of a "system", where components are carefully selected and matched to provide optimum performance, ease of maintenance, and cost effectiveness (both initial and long term operating costs). These components must perform 3 basic functions;

  • Removal of waste products from the pond
  • Separation of solid waste
  • Conversion of soluble waste
